Sally’s Story

I’m a retired biochemist. I’ve worked in research and also in education. It took me a long time to find the value of the Bahá’í Faith, but I have now been a happy Bahá'í for over 20 years! What particularly attracted me to the teachings of the Bahá'í Faith is the principle that science and religion are in harmony.
Since childhood I have been full of curiosity, wondering how life develops - and now I follow avidly the development of theories to explain our body, mind, spirit and soul. All seems made of the same "material" or immaterial energy, from the tiniest particle to the vast universe - and yet this magnificent system is largely beyond our ability to grasp fully. The creation of the Almighty is beyond the grasp of the human intellect. I am fascinated by the beauty and patterned orderliness of nature, which points me toward the Creator. The Bahá’í Writings are a rich source of ideas.

Bahá'u'lláh, Persian Hidden Words No.29

. . . Every created thing in the whole universe is but a door leading into His knowledge, a sign of His sovereignty, a revelation of His names, a symbol of His majesty, a token of His power, a means of admittance into His straight Path.
